Experts from Oxford Economics have upgraded Slovakia's 2023 GDP growth forecast to 0.5% following the impressive economic resilience in H2 2022 and the stronger carryover effect. Domestic demand and labour market in particular remain strong, and they no longer expect Slovakia to suffer a recession over the winter. But weakening external demand, sticky inflation and the ECB's hawkish resolve mean that growth will be lukewarm and fragile throughout 2023, picking up to 2.7% in 2024.
